Before galleries and night markets, Pier View Way had a different glow. The Playgirl Club stood just off the coast tracks—neon humming, door staff watching, traffic rolling to the pier. In 2002, Oceanside bought the club from local owner Skip Arthur, shutting it down and turning the address into the California Surf Museum—a sign of the new downtown taking shape.
